An international photography competition dealing with the challenge of literature.
We read – we read a lot, and often. – Words, texts, writings.
But what about the language of images? – An image can say more than a thousand words.

This competition is aimed at photographers, and is for works inspired by specific works of literature. The choice of literary form (poetry, prose, drama etc.) is open. Only one entry per person will be accepted. The entry shall not exceed 9 MB.
10 winners will be chosen by the jury Gabriele Rothemann, Klaus Feichtenberger and Eva Asaad.
An exhibition of the winners will take place during the days of Geman Literature in the Hafenstadt from 16th June until 16th July, 2021 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.
Deadline : 17 may 2021 , 10 pm
Contest Prize & TERMS
800 Euro for the first price, 500 Euro for the second price and 300 Euro for the third price. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: the copyright belongs to the photographer USAGE RIGHTS: the 10 winning photos will be shown in our webside and will be exhibited for one month.
The participants grant to the organiser and its partners in the organisation of events a non-exclusive worldwide right of utilisation of their works in images and in text, in connection with the competition and the subsequent exhibition. The organiser and its partners or this event and their sponsors may publish and reproduce the works and texts submitted for this competition without fee. This includes (not exclusively):
– the presentation of winning works in the subsequent exhibition and other public exhibitions initiated by the organisers and their partners;
– all kinds of publication on the websites of the organisers and their partners, also in promotional material and other products related
to the competition (such as catalogues, etc.) during the exhibition
and thereafter;
– transfer of these rights to the media for the purposes of publication
and dissemination within the framework of reports about the competition and the exhibition;
– these rights are concerned only with non-commercial usage of the
work. Should the possibility of commercial uses arise, the organisers will, of course, request the specific consent of the participants.
