Are you a researcher, an academic or a student in a scientific field? Do you love photography? Why not enter the World Scientific’s Photography Competition

World Scientific Publishing is thrilled to announce its inaugural Scientific Photography Competition, aimed at fostering creativity within the scientific community. Taking place throughout 2013, the competition offers scientists an opportunity to show their creative side to their community and beyond.

Main themes:

*Experiments: lab-based or home-made, show us what you’re up to.
*Scientific Portraits: what do scientists look like when they work? Only you know.
*Wildlife & Science: How do scientists interact with wildlife? Tell us your story.

Each theme will be judged separately by professional photographers, scientists and our creative staff. One winner will be then picked for the final prize: a brand new eBook reader. All shortlisted photographers will receive a World Scientific ebook in their scientific field of interest. In addition, the best photos across all entries will be published on our Flickr group and will feature in our 2014 calendar, offering great exposure worldwide.

We are sure there is plenty of hidden talent out there, so don’t be shy. You don’t need to be a professional photographer to take part, just pick up your camera and sign up.

How to enter:

* Register your name by sending an email to [email protected], stating your preferred category

* Post your photos on our Flickr group

* Deadline for entries: 31st August 2013, winners will be announced on or after 31st October 2013 and will be notified by email
