Wisden – MCC Cricket Photograph of the Year 2012
The search for the iconic cricket photograph of 2012 is underway, as Wisden and MCC in association with Park Cameras have joined forces for a third consecutive year in a bid to find the best cricket-themed image taken during the past twelve months.
In 2012 the winning images will be selected by a panel of independent expert judges appointed by Wisden and MCC, headed by former Chief Sports Photographer for The Sunday Times, Chris Smith.
Joining Smith on the panel for the first time will be Essex cricketer and keen amateur photographer, Graham Napier. A shortlist of eleven entries will initially be chosen, from which a winner and two runners-up will be announced.
Contest Prize & TERMS
Two runners-up will each receive £250 cash, plus a £400 Park Cameras voucher for Canon equipment
Eight other shortlisted entries will each receive £50 cash, plus a £150 Park Cameras voucher for Canon equipment
The top three photographs will feature in the 2013 Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, and all of the shortlisted entries will be exhibited at Lord’s throughout next year. ELIGIBILITY: Photos taken during 2012 / Cricket theme Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: Entrants must be the sole author and owner of the copyright for all images entered and will retain full copyright in their images at all times. USAGE RIGHTS: Reproduction: By entering your images into the competition, you grant a non-exclusive licence to MCC and Wisden to reproduce the winning and shortlisted images in connection with the competition for the following purposes:
publication in Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack 2013 and on www.wisden.com
publication on www.lords.org, MCC's Social Media channels and in MCC’s not-for-profit printed and electronic publications (eg Members’ newsletters and the MCC Magazine)
In addition, you grant MCC a non-exclusive licence to exhibit the winning and shortlisted images at Lord's Cricket Ground.
Media will be allowed to publish the winning and shortlisted images free of charge subject to it being in connection with the competition and clearly captioned as the Wisden/MCC Cricket Photograph of the Year 2013 and credited to the winning or shortlisted photographer.
Wisden and MCC hope that opportunities may arise for winning photographers to benefit from the commercial use of their image in connection with the competition, but if any such opportunities do arise they will be exploited only with the copyright owner’s permission.
