Win! a Panasonic Lumix DMC GF1 kit
Amateur Photographer is offering the chance to win a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 just for answering one question!
Question:
What is the lens flange to sensor distance of a Micro Four Thirds camera?
Approx 15mm
Approx 20mm
Approx 25mm
Approx 30m
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is the word’s smallest and lightest system camera and features a built-in flash for creative photography and HD movie recording. It’s the newest in Panasonic’s LUMIX G Micro System line-up of advanced digital interchangeable lens system cameras based on the Micro Four Thirds system standard.
The DMC GF1 features;
* A choice of colours including black, red and silver.
* Full-time Live View using either the 3in, 460,000 dot LCD screen, or optional electronic viewfinder (EVF) with fast contrast-detection AF
* Eight colour modes, plus six ‘film modes’ to replicate the apearance of popular film emulsions.
While the Micro Four Thirds system is built around a Four Thirds-sized sensor, the cameras have no reflex mirror and this enables the distance from the lens flange to the sensor to be halved (40mm to 20mm). The lack of a mirror also means that the rear element of the lens can be recessed further into camera, and thus closer to the sensor. This plus the 6mm reduction in the diameter of the lens mount, enables the overall size of the optics to be significantly decreased in comparison with a standard For Thirds or 35mm lenses.
