PRIZE DETAILS: Three outstanding photographs will be selected for Juror`s Choice Awards (1st Place - Best of Show, 2nd Place and 3rd Place) and five further photographs will receive an Honourable Mention. Winners of the Juror's Choice Awards will be featured online alongside their winning photograph.

Photographs selected for the Juror's Choice Awards will be featured on the Current Exhibition gallery and winners of 1st place will have a small portfolio of their work (up to five images) featured in our Past Exhibition gallery.

All the award winners will also be mentioned in our newsletter, which is circulated via email to our mailing list.

COPYRIGHT: The participant guarantees that the images or files s/he submits are his/her own work and that s/he possesses all the necessary rights of use . This also applies to the original materials used, including the personal rights of any persons depicted in the photographs and any further image rights. The participant ensures that s/he has all necessary copyrights, trademarks and/or design rights relating to his/her images and any products depicted in them. The participant will provide written confirmation of possession of these rights if requested to do so.

The participant, not the organiser, shall as the responsible party be solely liable for consequences arising from missing or incorrect information.

The photos submitted for entry may not be obscene, insulting, defamatory, ethically objectionable, of a nature that glorifies violence, pornographic, harassing, inappropriate for minors, racist, sexist, hatred-inciting, xenophobic, right-wing extremist or otherwise relevant under criminal law. Uploading such images may result in exclusion from the competition and the enforcement of claims for damages.

In the event of a suspected case of manipulation, the organiser reserves the right to exclude the participant from the competition without stating reasons. USAGE RIGHTS: By participating in the photography competition, submitting photographs and confirming his/her consent to the Terms and Conditions, the participant agrees to the following conditions:

The participant grants the organiser and any partners commissioned by the organiser (e.g. editorial teams and agencies) the perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use and publish the submitted image files for the purposes of the competition, for print and internet coverage of the competition, for public relations work relating to the competition, posters, invitations, exhibitions and, if applicable, catalogues and books or similar material.

Independently of this, the participant is entitled to dispose freely of his/her work. The rights granted to the organiser are limited to the context of the photo competition “Juried Photography Exhibitions at Atelier Alen” and are passed on exclusively for this purpose.

Third parties who do not comply with these restrictions accept exclusive liability for any infringement of rights. The organiser will not be liable in such cases.

Selected photographs will be presented just as they appear in the uploaded file. This applies in particular to the orientation (upwards, downwards, left, right) and colour, greyscale and bitmap. Reproductions of the photographs in magazines, exhibition materials, catalogues and the like will naturally strive to achieve colour fidelity, but this cannot be guaranteed.

The winning photos will remain visible on the website.

The personal data submitted by the participants at registration will only be passed on to third parties who are involved in the publication of materials relating to the competitions, such as magazine editors or exhibition curators.

The participant grants Alen GmbH permission to send him/her notification via email if one of the photographs s/he submitted is selected for an award.
Personal data will be used exclusively for the purpose of carrying out the competition.

By confirming his/her consent to these terms and conditions, the participant exempts the organiser as well as other stakeholders such as sponsors, reporting media, newspaper editors, from all liability, claims, fees, costs or compensation resulting from a non-culpable or culpable breach of these terms and conditions or from other activities connected with the organisation of the competition.

Alen GmbH does not accept liability for the delayed or incomplete receipt of the registration or of submitted photographs and cannot be held responsible for technical faults, in particular for telephone, internet, electronic or computer failures.

The preparation and organisation of the competition will take place with due care. Since failures can never be ruled out, the organiser accepts no liability for the cancellation or curtailment of individual or of all components of the competition (such as media coverage or the like).

Moreover, Alen GmbH only accepts liability for damage to the participant in cases of deliberate intent or gross negligence.

These restrictions do not apply if the claim is based upon an injury to life, limb or health or for claims made under product liability law.

This applies equally to the personal liability of employees of Alen GmbH or of third parties who are contracted for the purposes of carrying out the competition.
