Water Integrity photo competition
Water is necessary for human life and encourages good health, economic growth and social development. Water, however, is scarce and corruption makes access to that already scarce water difficult. It also makes existing problems in the water sector more challenging.
Moreover, as about half of the world’s population lives in cities, with a UN estimate that by 2030, 5 billion people will be urban citizens , it is today urgent to look at problems of urban water access and highlight solutions that fight or prevent corruption before it becomes too devastating for the urban populations.
This photo competition seeks to focus on the precious value of water as well as the dangers that badly managed water can expose people to. We ask contestants to send us photographs that either shows the damaging effect of corruption in cities or that highlights transparency, integrity, participation and/or accountability to avoid corruption in water for cities. All submitted photos must be linked to urban water, explained through the caption or a short description.
