URBAN 2022 PHOTO AWARDS INTERNATIONAL CONTEST
The cultural association dotART, based in Trieste, Italy, is organising the 13th edition of URBAN Photo Awards contest.
The contest is open to everybody and organised into 3 sections: Single Photos (4 thematic areas: Streets, People, Spaces, Creative),Projects & Portfolios and URBAN Book Award.
Contestants can participate in more than one section at the same time.
The general theme of the contest is Urban Life: Urban Photography. The theme delves into modernity through all kinds of photography set in the fabric of the city.
At the heart of the contest is the City, the urban environment and the humanity living there: the everyday life of big cities and small towns, the contrasts and the contradictions between the city and the countryside, the aesthetic views, the architectural geometries, fragments of colour breaking up the greyness of the city. Real, immediate images, able to recount the City and its stories.
Special guest of this year will be Susan Meseilas, one of the most influential documentary photographers in the world, member of Magnum Photos agency and president of the Magnum Foundation.
At the festival she will also hold an exclusive talk and will be one of the protagonists of the project WOW: Worlds of Women.
Susan Meseilas together with Nino Migliori, Italian photography legend, Jérôme Sessini documentary photographer, member of the Magnum Photos agency and many others will be part of the jury of this edition of URBAN 2022 and will be guests of honor at the ninth edition of Trieste Photo Days to personally announce and award the winners of the competition and hold exclusive talks.
The URBAN Photo Awards exhibitions will culminate at Trieste Photo Days 2022, which hosts the awards ceremony, the final exhibition of the contest and a series of personal and collective exhibitions of the best photos and classified projects.
Contest Prize & TERMS
€ 2.000 for the winner of the Single Photos category, € 2.000 for the first Portfolio, € 500 for the Best Author, € 500 for the winner of Book Award, € 300 for the winner of New Buildings.
Production and publication of the book for the URBAN Book Award Winner and many other prize, like collective and personal exhibitions, invitation as guest of honour to Trieste Photo Days, including a two-night stay for two, in order to attend the award ceremony and gala dinner invitation during the festival. As well as Publication, both online and in a photographic book, Stroppa straps, trophies and medals. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: Each photographer maintains moral and intellectual property rights on their submitted works. Each author grants the dotART association the non-exclusive right to use the winning/selected images to promote/advertise the association’s non-profit activities, subject to official communication to the author (whose name will always be attributed to the work). USAGE RIGHTS: By entering the competition, the Author accepts the present rules and declares that he/she is the owner of the intellectual property rights and of the rights of use of the submitted image and of any necessary release notes. Documentation of rights ownership must be presented to dotART upon request.
