3rd IUCN Red List of Ecosystems: Photo Contest

3rd IUCN Red List of Ecosystems: Photo Contest

In order to raise awareness of our planet’s ecosystem diversity, their current status and how they are changing, the IUCNRLE team organized the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest, which reaches its third edition: Ecosystems at the Crossroads. The idea is to promote the conservation of ecosystems and the species diversity they house through knowledge.
Registration and reception of photographs begin on 31 March 2016 and end on 30 June of the same year. The contest is aimed at amateur (non-professional) photographers. Requirements: a passion for photography, nature and for showing our environment from the perspective of ecosystems to promote their conservation.

There are two categories of participation: Wild Beauty and Changing World. In each, there are two modalities: Individual Photo and Series of Photos. Under the Wild Beauty category photos of ecosystems in natural conditions, with minimal human intervention, are expected. Under the Changing World category images should illustrate ecosystems or environments with different levels of human intervention.
