The Walrus Amateur Travel Photography Contest
Travel photography is defined as photographic images taken during travel outside the photographer’s place (city or town) of residence. Photographs can be landscapes or portraits, but they must be taken under natural lighting conditions, without the assistance of, for example, a flash.
Images can be documentary or evocative, humorous or serious, but they must have as their focus a depiction of the place visited, and/or the people who live there. Images can be digitally manipulated (in, for example, Photoshop), but this should be done with the intent of correcting the colour balance or tonal properties of images, and not to collage additional elements into an image, or to create an image that cannot otherwise be recorded in a single frame in real time. Both film and digital files are eligible, but all files must be submitted in a JPEG (digital) format. Files should not be compressed.
