The TRANSFORMATIONS Exhibition
The very successful TRANSFORMATIONS Exhibition is returning for its third year to the Pennsylvania Center for Photography in Doylestown, Pa. This year we are adding something different, so read on!
This unique, juried exhibition pays tribute to the vision and skills of photographers who freely express their creativity by whatever means they choose. If you have been rejected from other shows or have had your work questioned because you use textures, composites, filters, or any of the other wonderful tools available to create your own vision, then you have found your home! Welcome to TRANSFORMATIONS!
The show will feature the PCP’s hallmark format of concurrently running both a traditional print exhibition as well as the very popular large screen digital exhibition for photographers who are too far away to deliver physical prints or who otherwise do not wish to print their images.
Now for what’s new… After numerous requests, we are adding a new, separate “Unlimited Exhibition”, which is open to any image that has a photographic basis. This section of the show will get its own large screen digital display in the gallery and is the place for digital art, derivative images, phoneography, and any of the other manifestations of photographically based art.
To make the distinction clear, the original TRANSFORMATIONS Print and Digital Exhibitions remain as they always have been, the major components of the entry are expected to be the work of the photographer. Using textures, composites, plug-ins, paint programs, adding a bird or two are all fine, but the defining image elements have to be yours. The Unlimited Exhibition is just that – unlimited – do what you want as long as it has some photographic basis and doesn’t violate someone else’s copyright. It is its own category from an entry perspective and will be judged separately. It should be a lot of fun!
The Call for Photography is now open and will close on September 26, 2018.
Historically, the show has drawn a significant number of international entries as well as submissions from 20+ states. The exhibition will be free and open to the public from November 2 to November 18, 2018.
