We often imagine that the Surrealists worked to create profoundly weird and unconventional work as a matter of course. These artists captured images whose strangeness resulted from the bizarre juxtaposition of everyday objects, made unfamiliar by virtue of unreality. Consider the Daliesque fusion of a lobster into a telephone or the strange scenes of Un Chien Andalou. Surrealism is not simply a period trapped in the past; the surreal persists, manifesting throughout mediums to the present. How does your work transform reality into the lucid realm of the surreal?

The Surreal is an international juried group exhibition open to photographers ages 18 years and older. All black and white, color, conventional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.
