The Contour by Getty Images Portrait Prize
Getty Images is dedicated to excellence in photography and recognizes the skill and dedication portrait photography requires. Therefore, they are excited to offer this prize in support of emerging talent in the field of portrait photography. To celebrate excellence in portraiture by emerging talent, Getty Images are launching their first Contour by Getty Images Portrait Prize.
Applicants must submit 10-20 images from their portrait work (either individual images or a series) along with a biography, brief explanation of their approach to portraiture, and description of what they would like to accomplish in their careers, (each in 1000 words or less).
The judges have been selected by Getty Images for his or her expertise and industry experience:
Peter Lindbergh, Fashion Photographer
Georges Mohammed-Chérif, Founder and President, Buzzman
Alain Genestar, Founder, Polka Magazine and Gallery
Jean-Jacques Naudet, Founder and Editor-In-Chief, La Lettre de la Photographie
Laurence Vecten, Director of Photography, Glamour
Selection will be based on judges’ determination of the applicants’ ability to execute compelling portraiture photography, taking into account the caliber of portfolio, professional ability, approach and goals.

COPYRIGHT: Applicants retain the copyrights to any imagery submitted for the judges’ review. Only imagery to which the applicant holds the copyright may be submitted. USAGE RIGHTS: No materials and ideas contained within the application will be used by Getty Images or grant judges for any purpose other than the grant review and selection process and for publicity. Each grant applicant allows Getty Images the right to use his or her name, likeness and biographical information, as well as the right to select and use portfolio images in connection with any and all Getty Images promotions and publicity, including the website and exhibitions of the Contour by Getty Images Portrait Prize program.
