The 2013 Picture Editor Guild Awards
The search to find Britain’s most talented photographers has launched, with the return of the annual Picture Editor Guild Awards, which will take place in London on November 4, 2013.
Professional and amateur photographers can now submit entries to compete for the most coveted awards in the industry via this website. It also includes the BT Citizen Photographer category, open to the public and for professionals the chance to become the SABMiller Press Photographer of the Year. These awards are distinctive in that panels of judges consisting only of working picture editors from national and regional newspapers and international photo agencies assess the thousands of entries from professional photographers from throughout the media. Enthusiastic non-professionals also get an opportunity to have their work judged in their own category by the same top editors.
Entries will be for pictures taken between 17th July 2012 and 16th July 2013.
The 2013 Picture Editor Guild Award categories are:
Bloomberg Business Photographer of the Year
British Airways Fashion and Entertainment Photographer of the Year
Young Photographer Bursary
Getty Royal Photographer of the Year
Genesis Regional Photographer of the Year
Nikon Sports Photographer of the Year
Nikon Videographer of the Year
Opentext News Photographer of the Year
The Picture Editors Guild Photo Essay of the Year
The Picture Editors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award
And from these categories we find the: SABMiller Photographer of the Year
