IGPOTY2012 The competition is open to everyone, amateurs and professionals alike. Entries are welcome from any country in the world. There are no restrictions on the type of camera you use, or the techniques you use to produce your final image

You have to pay a fee to enter. But unlike free competitions, we provide feedback on request (after the judging), we have a huge range of cash and other prizes available to winners and to runners-up, together with the unique prize of having a photograph exhibited in our exhibitions.

PRIZE DETAILS: SINGLE IMAGE (International Garden Photographer of the Year): £5000

PORTFOLIO: ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY GOLD MEDAL PLUS £2000 CASH.

This year we will again place the emphasis not only on the great cash prizes we have on offer, but ways in which you can use your competition entry to improve your photography. In addition to the cash and equipment prizes, we are offering everyone who enters the chance to have a personal critique of your entry ELIGIBILITY: Worldwide Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.

COPYRIGHT: By submitting images to the Competition, you confirm and warrant that you are the sole author of each entry and that it is your original work and you are the sole owner of the copyright in each image. USAGE RIGHTS: If your image is short-listed you will be contacted and invited to grant permission for your image to be used to promote the Competition and exhibition only. For avoidance of doubt, no free usage of any photograph is permitted by International Garden Photographer of the Year, or any of its partners or sponsors outside the scope of the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition and exhibition. There is no plan envisaged by International Garden Photographer of the Year, or any of its partners or sponsors, to create a general commercial archive of photographs entered into this competition. Failure to agree to this licence will not disqualify any photograph from the competition.

This invitation will state as follows:
You grant International Garden Photographer of the Year and its supporting partners a non- exclusive, irrevocable, royalty free licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the photographs for any purpose connected with the Competition. This may include, but is not limited to:

(a) inclusion on the Site and on the websites of sponsors and supporters;
(b) inclusion in associated books;
(c) display at any associated exhibitions
(d) use in press releases to be distributed to national, regional & specialist press giving information about or promoting the Competition.

You also agree that the organisers can sub-license images to the media for reproduction in connection with the Competition and Exhibition only. International Garden Photographer of the Year will make every effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium.

Images used on any merchandise commissioned by the organisers will be subject to separate agreements which will be discussed individually with photographers.
