Tamron USA announces “my Food Photography exhibit” 2012 USER photo contest winner

Tamron USA announced the winner of the Tamron USA My Food Photography Exhibit User Photo Contest. The contest launched in October 15, 2012 and required that Tamron lens users create a virtual photo exhibit using Tamron’s MyPhotoExhibits.com showcasing at least 8-14 images. The winning exhibit would be based upon overall quality and originality of the collection. Professional photographer Hernan Rodriguez selected “Chinese Food Tapas” by Wilson Ng as the winning exhibit which featured images taken with his Tamron SP 17-50mm F/2.8 Di II zoom. The winning exhibit can be viewed at . Tamron offered the winner the chance to pick a lens of their choice. This selection included the choice between the 18-270mm Di II VC PZD 15X all-in-one zoom lens (model B008), SP 17-50mm F/2.8 Di II VC (model B005), SP 70-300mm Di VC USD (model A005), SP 60mm F/2.0 Di II 1:1 Macro (model G005), and the 18-200mm Di III VC for Sony E-Mount (model B011). Contest winner Wilson NG chose the Tamron 18-270mm Di II VC PZD All-In-One zoom lens.
Contest Judge Hernan Rodriguez stated, “I put myself in the contestant’s shoes. I know when I did competitions, I put in a lot of time and effort into creating my images. I believe that Wilson’s exhibit had the best technical application for food photography along with well lit images.
The winning exhibit will be featured on the Tamron USA website and Tamron eNewsletter as one of the upcoming featured stories titled, “Chinese Food Tapas” written by Jenn Gidman. This story will serve as an in-depth understanding of the images featured in the winning exhibit, techniques used and the photographer’s inspirations.
