1650 GALLERY is seeking photos for the juried photography exhibition STILL LIFE: THE DEPICTION OF THINGS. The STILL LIFE is one of the most time honored artistic traditions. The magic of the still life is the transcendence of the artist’s vision over everyday, sometimes mundane, subject matter.

From Edward Weston’s peppers to Peter Hujars’s tenement debris, the still life magically transforms the flotsam and jetsam of our ordinary lives into fine art. 1650 Gallery welcomes your take on the still life.

Approximately 40 works will be chosen from submitted photographs to be shown in the STILL LIFE exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. There is an entry fee of $25 for up to 5 images. Additional entries may be submitted for $5 each.
