Spirit of Place Photo Contest
SPIRIT OF PLACE embodies geography, connections, stories, memories and presence. To celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we honor the spirit of place. From around the globe to Midcoast Maine. We invite all photographers and all video makers of all ages and abilities to submit your visual interpretation. Landscapes, seascapes, people/culture, abstract expression – show us what Spirit of Place means to you.
Adult Submissions
Categories: Portfolio (A portfolio submission consists of a series of 8-10 images that relate to each other and tell a story together about Spirit of Place).
Single Images – Submit your Single Image entries to Spirit of Place in the following categories:
1. Landscape
2. Seascape
3. People/Culture
4. Abstract Expression
5. Midcoast Maine
There is one category for Photo Submissions for Youth: Spirit of Place-Maine.
All images must have been taken somewhere within Maine and portray Spirit of Place. Possible categories under Spirit of Place could include landscape, seascape, people/culture, abstract expression.
Contest Prize & TERMS
Single Image Category Winners (5): Free tuition to a one-week Maine Media workshop (maximum value of $1,500), Inclusion of winning image in Maine Media Gallery Exhibition, $100 gift certificate to B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, Invitation to an Awards Ceremony, Publication in, and one free copy of, the Blurb book of all the winning entries in the Spirit of Place Photo Submissions for Adults
Single Image Honorable Mentions (40): $50 gift certificate to B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, Invitation to an Awards Ceremony, Publication in, and one free copy of, the Blurb book of all the winning entries in the Spirit of Place Photo Submissions for Adults
All winning images will be posted on the Maine Media web site

COPYRIGHT: Entrants retain all rights to their work. Entrants must own and have exclusive copyright to all images they submit. USAGE RIGHTS: By submitting to Maine Media Workshops + College, entrants grant the use of images for the purpose of marketing by Maine Media, for display on the Maine Media web site, for inclusion in a public art display and for inclusion in a visual arts archive available for use by the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce and its Members and by non-profit institutions in Midcoast Maine. Images will not be sold.
As conditions of this permission, Maine Media Workshops shall credit all photographs with "© Person's Name."
