Society of Arts and Crafts (SAC’s) & Stonehenge Gallery, The 2021 Photo Competition
This month-long exhibit in July is presented by the Society of Arts & Crafts (SAC’s), a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization committed to the advancement of art education and art appreciation. The event will be exhibited at Stonehenge Gallery, one of Montgomery, Alabama’s premier art galleries/art frame shops. The 9 photo group and the staffs at the Society of Arts and Crafts (SAC’s) and Stonehenge Gallery are supplying the labor to make this event happen.
Submission is open to all photographers (professional and amateur), working in all forms of photography. Four categories are offered.
1. Color
2. Black and white
3. Alternative process
4. Manipulation (digital and film)
The cost to enter is $25. You may enter up to three images for that fee. There is no theme for this exhibit. There is no time limit for when you produced your work. Let’s elevate photography as fine art. Show us your best!
Images previously displayed in-gallery at any Society of Arts and Crafts & Stonehenge Gallery photo competitions are not eligible for this competition and should not be submitted.
The exhibit runs July 10-28, 2021, with an opening reception at Stonehenge Gallery on Saturday, July 10, at 5:30 p.m. If COVID prevents us from holding an in-person reception, we will hold a virtual reception. One way or the other, we will meet to celebrate and present awards! The Stonehenge Gallery will be open for in-person viewing.
We are honored to have Sarah Kennel, curator of photography at the High Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, as the juror for this exhibit. See the “Meet the Juror” page for more information on our judge. Ms. Kennel will also give a juror’s talk after the opening reception, time to be announced.
Contest Prize & TERMS
COPYRIGHT: USE RIGHTS: Artists retain all copyright to their own images. By submitting for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant SAC’s and Stonehenge Gallery the right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, promoting exhibitions, and subsequent display on SAC’s and Stonehenge Gallery websites of current and past exhibitions. Further, the artist represents that he or she created the image and has the right to make this grant of use. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for the SAC’s and Stonehenge Gallery. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from SAC’s and Stonehenge Gallery. We do run ads in print media at times promoting our events. Should your image(s) be selected for a printed promotion, you may be asked to provide the exhibit with a digital image of higher resolution that the one submitted for the jury process.
