SNAPSHOT is an annual, open photographic competition for teenagers (13yrs – 19yrs), produced and presented by Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest. Entry is FREE and there is prize money on offer allowing teenagers the opportunity to become cultural producers rather than simply consumers. Are you a teenager and interested in photography? Then enter this exclusive competition for an opportunity to be a part of an exciting exhibition.

This is the sixth year the Gallery has presented SNAPSHOT and last year the Gallery was inundated with over 450 photographs from around the world, the largest participation in its 5 year history and the first time with international representation. A rigorous selection process occurs and 300 photographs are selected for the exhibition. We hope to continue the trend in 2012 with lots of teenagers participating and seeing what young people are doing behind the lens.

By participating in Snap Shot, teenagers are given a unique opportunity to express their perspectives on life in an exclusively teenage exhibition.

There is also an opportunity to join Team Snap Shot –Teenage Event Management Committee and gain valuable industry experience in event management, marketing and promotion and exhibition development. Members work on a marketing plan, help develop flyers and social media connections, plan and manage the opening event under the guidance of Gallery staff.

The exhibition will be on show from 22 September to 2 December.
