Snap and Share Photo Contest
The Snap and Share Photo Contest is a City of Toronto Photo Contest sponsored by Nikon Canada. The contest theme is around getting outdoors to create and share memorable moments and experiences with the City of Toronto’s parks, urban forest or engaging in recreation activities. These may be personal moments from the contestant’s experiences or experiences of others that illustrate how the City’s parks, forestry and recreation contributes to enhancing the quality of life for Toronto residents.
The City of Toronto, Parks, Forestry and Recreation division has a mission to improve the quality of life of Toronto’s diverse communities by providing safe, beautiful parks, a healthy, expanding urban forest, and high quality, community focused recreational experiences.
Any submissions must be an original photo taken in the City of Toronto during the contest period, and fall into one of the following categories:
Parks: The parks category includes pictures taken in Toronto’s parks which show their beauty or the many different ways that people use, experience or enjoy parks. Examples include pictures showcasing:
- the natural beauty of Toronto park landscapes, flowers, and views
- families and friends using Toronto parks for picnics, barbeques, socializing and other activities
- the quality of life parks bring to an urban area
Forestry: The forestry category includes photos that showcase the beauty of Toronto’s natural environment. Photos include pictures of animals, people, trees and trails. Examples include pictures showcasing:
- Toronto trees
- hiking or biking through Toronto’s trails and ravines
- Toronto’s tree canopy
- wildlife in the city
Recreation: The recreation category includes photos of people participating in outdoor recreational activities and being active in Toronto. Examples include pictures showcasing people:
- keeping active in Toronto beaches and parks
- participating in outdoor sports
- enjoying activities such as yoga, Frisbee, volleyball soccer, cricket, and more
Contest Prize & TERMS
All finalists will receive a certificate from the City of Toronto.
There may also be a number of honourable mentions. ELIGIBILITY: Residents of Ontario
Photos must be high resolution in JPG format, of at least 3600 pixels x 2,400 pixels Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: Photos must have been created by the person submitting them to the contest and photos created by someone else should not be submitted. The contestant must be the sole owner of all rights to the photos that the contestant submits. USAGE RIGHTS: Entering the contest constitutes an agreement by the contestant to give a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to the City, and anyone it authorizes, to display, distribute, modify, crop reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed including the Internet, for any City purpose including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion. Such license is provided without any fee or other form of compensation, or any requirement for additional approvals, photo credit will be given where possible.
The entrant waives all moral rights in any of his or her winning entries.
