SELF PUBLISH RIGA Dummy contest 2021
SELF PUBLISH RIGA is a biennial series of events dedicated to photobooks and self–publishing, organised by the ISSP platform of contemporary photography in Riga, Latvia, as one of the central events of Riga Photomonth.
It consists of an international book dummy contest, exhibition of photobooks and book dummies and other events.
The organisers expect to receive the physical dummy as a pop-up photobook exhibition this Summer will open this summer, but as the jury work will take place both at the ISSP office in Riga and online, the participants also must send their dummies in a pdf format.
All entries to the contest will be judged by an international jury: founder and director of Self Publish, Be Happy Bruno Ceschel (Italy), curator of ISSP Gallery and SELF PUBLISH RIGA, writer and photographer Evita Goze (Latvia), founder and director of the independent publishing house Skinnerboox Milo Montelli (Italy), award-winning book designer and typographer Alexey Murashko (Latvia) and researcher, curator at FOTODOK Daria Tuminas (Russia / the Netherlands).
Contest Prize & TERMS
Additionally, the organisers have teamed up with a top service provider fineArtPrint to grant 500 EUR credit towards printing and framing to the author of the best dummy from the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia).
A shortlist of the submitted dummies will be displayed at SELF PUBLISH RIGA exhibition in summer 2021 at the ISSP Gallery in Riga. The shortlist and the winners will be announced at the end of May 2021. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: By accepting the terms and conditions, the participant declares that he/she is the owner of all copyright, usage, application and other protection rights, or if he/she is not the owner of these rights – that he/she has the permission of the owners of these rights and is able to use them without a time or spatial limit. USAGE RIGHTS: By submitting the work the participant grants ISSP permission to exhibit the dummy photobook during SELF PUBLISH RIGA 2021 and to use it for promotional and educational purposes. All exhibited dummies will remain at the ISSP library.
