Seasons of Rural Scotland Photo Contest

scvo We are now welcoming entries for our Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition. The competition has four themes to reflect the seasons of the year and we’re looking for your photos that show the splendor and activity of Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. We want to see your photos of landscapes, community events, wildlife, outdoor pursuits – anything at all as long as it’s seasonal. The closing date has been extended from 31st August to 23rd September

Autumn – Closing date 30th November 2010: Autumn is the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. We’re expecting lots of wonderful photos of falling leaves and the changing colours of woodlands, other subjects could include harvesting or even Halloween events!

Winter – Closing date 28th February 2011: Sledging, skiing, snowboarding, making igloos – there is lots of fun to be had on a snowy day. Other subjects could be crisp winter landscapes, festive events and bringing in the New Year.

Spring – Closing date 31st May 2011: This is the season when rural Scotland springs into bloom! Subjects for this season could include new born animals on the farm, emerging dragonflies, baby birds nesting and crocuses, snowdrops and cherry blossom.

Summer – Closing date 31st August 2011: Summer events like Highland Games, agricultural shows and festivals could be good subjects for this season. Other subjects could be camping, walking or mountain biking.

Closing dates are quarterly. You can submit in advance for any of the season themes, but entries will not be accepted for a season after its closing date.
