Scottish Biodiversity Week 2011 Nature Photo Contest

Biodiversity Week 2011 The Scottish Biodiversity Week 2011 Nature Photography Competition is now live! The theme for the competition this year is “Nature gifts to me”. We are looking for entries that explore what you think nature does for you.

Visit the website to see a collection of images and ideas that sets out some of our own ideas on nature’s gifts – we hope it’s useful.

Send us your best photo of animals, plants or landscapes. The photographs submitted should be of nature in Scotland. Pictures of pets or domestic animals and pictures that were not taken in Scotland will not be admitted. Pictures of animals under controlled conditions (zoo, enclosure or similar) should be identified on information accompanying the entry.

Entries must be original. Accompanying information should include a title for each image, explain where the image was taken and explain what it means to you in terms of the competition theme. Up to 2 entries per person may be submitted. Please also include your name and how you can be contacted. Winners will be notified in August and the winning entries will be posted on the website and highlighted in the Scottish Biodiversity Forum’s quarterly newsletter. Please carefully read the rules of the competition.

Visit last year’s online virtual gallery to see 2010’s best thirty images.

Read our competition judge – Lorne Gill’s online comments about 2010’s top three winners for tips on what aspects of the images he particularly thought were great.
