Scottish Ballet Alice Photography Competition

E-shot header We are holding our first ever photography competition to celebrate the world premiere of Alice. Alice is an unforgettable take on the most curious of tales. After tumbling through a camera lens, Alice finds herself in a strange dreamlike place.

Drifting through episodes from Lewis Carroll’s treasured stories, she meets a series of fantastical characters who each impatiently try to teach her something, and guided by Carroll himself, she has to rely on her wits to find her way out.

We were inspired by these unusual twists in the tale to find out how you visualise Alice’s magical adventures in her strange new world. Lewis Carroll himself was a keen photographer and his vision has captured the hearts of children for decades. Now we want you to create an image that embodies your perception of the Alice stories.

The competition will be divided into two different categories: Photography and Digital Art. A panel of judges will choose winners in each category as well as one overall winner. There will also be an additional winner chosen by the public through an online vote on the Scottish Ballet Facebook page.

There are no restrictions on style – landscape, portrait, figure compositions and abstract images are all welcome. All we ask is that you bring your own interpretation to the Alice story and that you present it in an eye-catching and unusual way.
