EXHIBITING AT PHOTO LA –ROUND HOLE SQUARE PEG 4 IS A BIENNIAL INTERNATIONAL SURVEY OF THE QUEER PHOTOGRAPHIC GAZE.
In 2019 LGBTQQ museum exhibitions were staged by The Samuel R. Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art (MOMA),
The Metropolitan Museum, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, Art Institute of Chicago, Brooklyn Museum among many others.
Round Hole Square Peg 4 is now accepting entries for the 4th biennial group exhibition at Photo LA.
From this competition, the judges of ROUND HOLE SQUARE PEG 4 will select 35 winning artists to exhibit at the west coast’s longest-running art fair, Photo LA.
This year Claudia Bartlet, director of Photo LA is among the judges and will be awarding, Best in Show. The competition is curated by director Phil Tarley, associate curator Ruben Esparza, and judged by a panel of 5 jurors. From Photo LA the exhibition will move on to the City of West Hollywood’s gallery for a month-long museum-like exhibition. All work in both venues is for sale.
As Stonewall 50 passes, LGBTQ persecution intensifies in Trumpian America and around the world. Art exhibitions enable LGBTQQ photographers to voice their activism, proclaim their visibility and create a new wave of queer art and soul.
