Renaissance Photography Prize 2016 – Exhibition in London, exposure and over £6000 in prizes

Now in its ninth year, the prize is looking to discover talent and celebrate the best in photography, giving image makers access to new opportunities and world-wide audience for their work. Entering gives photographers the chance to have their work seen by a panel of some of the industry’s most influential photography critics, as well as being exhibited in London, UK.
Photographers can enter single images and/or series of work. The competition is open to everyone and welcomes entries from all countries. All profit from entry fees is donated to The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care, UK, a charity that supports younger women affected by the disease. Currently, one third of the Lavender Trust’s annual funding comes from the Renaissance Photography Prize.
The Renaissance Photography Prize exhibition presents the judges’ selection of some of the best international photography today. The winners get announced at the Awards Ceremony, late autumn 2015. The annual Portfolio Review will take place during the exhibition weeks, where anyone has the chance to get their work reviewed by gallery directors, curators, agents and editors.
Renaissance Photography Prize was founded in 2007 by Fiona Gifford following her diagnosis with breast cancer at the age of 34. Since then it has raised over £250,000 for the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care.
The prize is now managed and curated by Monica Takvam with the help of a team of dedicated volunteers.

Renaissance Photography Prize has teamed up with HOTSHOE to feature work from one of this year’s shortlisted photographers as an online portfolio on hotshoeinternational.com. COPYRIGHT: you are the sole author of each Entry and that it is your original work;
you own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
you have the permission of those pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required in the section on licensing below and will indemnify Renaissance against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement;
you have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made in the licensing section below; and
you have received any necessary permissions from the owner(s) of buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by the licensing section below and will indemnify Renaissance against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.
You retain copyright of your images. USAGE RIGHTS: By entering the Competition, you grant Renaissance and its supporting partners a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose solely and exclusively to promote the Competition, Exhibition and Awards Ceremony from the time of entry and for a period of 5 years after the close of the Competition. This may include, but is not limited to:
magazine coverage of the Competition and Exhibition;
inclusion in a catalogue;
display at the Exhibition or any connected exhibitions;
on renaissancephotography.org website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters;
in advertisements used to promote the Competition;
for use in press releases to be distributed to national, regional & specialist press giving information about or promoting this and subsequent Renaissance competitions.
