Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year
A unique set of global photography awards, the first-ever Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012, is a thrilling celebration of all that is special and significant about food photography in our culture, recognising the art as never before.
Open to professionals and amateurs alike across the world, with a prize of £5000 for the overall winner, the awards cover nine categories, ranging from Food in the Street, Food in the Field, Food for Sale, Food Portraiture and of course, a Young category.
The entries will be judged in March 2012 by a highly distinguished panel of experts, ranging from picture editors to publishers, retail directors, chefs and photographers. The winning images will be displayed at the world-renowned Mall Galleries, London SW1 in April 2012.
Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012 is inspired by the proliferation of wonderful food photography in a huge variety of applications. From eye-catching advertising hoardings, to sumptuous editorial features, from tempting food packaging to daily blogs. The awards celebrate this magnificent diversity in what is truly, the stuff of life.
This art form and its greatest exponents deserves to be celebrated, the standard is phenomenal.
The panel of 20 judges include: James Averdieck, Founder and MD of Gu Chocolate Puds, Sheila Dillon, award-winning presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme, Henry Dimbleby, Founder of Leon Restaurants, John W Dixon, Director, Food, Marks and Spencer, Elizabeth Galbraith, Creative Director, BBC Food Group, Alex James, writer, musician and cheese-maker, Andy Macdonald, MD of Coregeo UK, the Master Licensor of Pink Lady® in the UK, Jane Suthering, President of the Guild of Food Writers, Eric Treuille of Books for Cooks
Contest Prize & TERMS
Category winners will receive vouchers for camera equipment and a trophy.

COPYRIGHT: Each entry must: be the original work and also be the complete copyright of the owner and not already be linked with existing rights to a third party.
The copyright in all images submitted to the awards will remain with the entrant who will be credited in accordance with the terms and conditions. USAGE RIGHTS: By entering the awards, each entrant grants to the Owners a non-exclusive irrevocable licence to reproduce, publish, and communicate to the public by any means and exhibit their image and copies of their image in all media throughout the world in relation to the awards and the exhibition including but not limited to all use in the context of:
* Judging the awards.
* Display in the exhibition.
* Inclusion in any portfolio book and magazine or similar. * Inclusion within interactive elements associated with the awards and or exhibition (now known or hereafter created) available for viewing or download from the Owners' website. * Inclusion in promotional, press and marketing materials associated with the awards and or the exhibition. * Inclusion in merchandising associated with the awards and or the exhibition.
In some of the above circumstances, commercial opportunities may exist for winning photographers to benefit from the use of their image: where a commercial benefit is likely to arise, permission will be sought in advance and terms and conditions will be agreed.
Winning images will be used by the Owners for a period of 14 months from the announcement of the winners and thereafter the Owners may keep the winning images within an archive (electronic or otherwise) for a further period of 5 years, after which permission will be sought from the photographers should their images be used in connection with the awards and or exhibition.
