Outdoor Photography’s annual photography competition, Outdoor Photographer of the Year, showcases the very best outdoor images from around the globe, from both amateur and professional photographers. This year, the competition is even better, with great prizes, new categories, plus the exciting news that the winning images will feature in an exclusive exhibition and awards ceremony at The Outdoors Show, in London, during January 2013.

With categories covering everything from landscapes and wildlife to travel and adventure, the competition looks to reveal the very best of photographic talent in the natural world.

Since its launch in 2000, Outdoor Photography magazine has led the way in featuring the work of the best nature and landscape photographers, and with this competition we are looking to honour those who go beyond the normal limits in creating striking outdoor imagery.

The winners of each category will go forward to the final selection for the prestigious overall title. We haven’t forgotten young talent either, with our under 18 category, which will reward the most promising new photographers in the field. Entry for this category is FREE again this year, to help encourage the next generation of outdoor photographers. There are great prizes up for grabs!
