The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District invites photographers to enter its 3rd Annual Digital Photography Competition. We are seeking compelling digital images of nature, capturing the diversity of our open spaces.

Your images may show wildlife, plant life, natural landscapes, weather, or people interacting with nature; however, they must be taken in one of our open space preserves. We are interested in images that depict the wide range of habitats across our lands, including riparian, grasslands, chaparral, and redwood environments.

The District is also interested in photos of the spectacular spring 2010 wildflower bloom at Russian Ridge OSP following the successful prescribed burn in 2009, performed as part of our grassland management program.

BONUS!! To commemorate our upcoming 40-year anniversary in 2012, the District is planning to publish a special edition coffee table book, featuring photographs and art celebrating the beauty and diversity of our open space preserves. All photo contest entries (past and present) will be considered for inclusion in the District Coffee Table Book.
