New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year 2013
The New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year is our country’s most prestigious and richest photographic competition.
The four categories are intended to celebrate the time-honoured art of editorial photography and showcase the extraordinary natural and cultural riches of New Zealand. Each entrant may submit a maximum of five images over the three categories of Landscape, Wildlife and Culture. In addition (or instead) photographers may submit a set comprising four to six images in the Photostory category.
Entry is free, and amateurs, professionals and students alike are welcome to enter.
Contest Prize & TERMS
PRIZE DETAILS:
The winner of each category receives $1000 cash, publication in New Zealand Geographic, two New Zealand Geographic 2014 wall calendars and a one-year subscription to New Zealand Geographic.
The winner of the Young Photographer category will also receive $1000 and the opportunity to attend a nature photography workshop with Kim Westerskov.
The overall winner earns the title New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year 2013, an additional $1000 cash and a berth as a New Zealand Geographic photographer on board a Heritage Expeditions’ voyage. ELIGIBILITY: New Zealand Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: The photographer must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all entries. The photographer retains full copyright on all images. USAGE RIGHTS: By entering the competition, you accept that your image may be published in New Zealand Geographic, online at www.nzgeographic.co.nz as part of its coverage of the Photographer of the Year competition and in a calendar produced and distributed with the Jan/Feb 2014 issue. All photographers published in this calendar will receive a copy of the calendar. You also accept that your image may be published in the future in formats (print, electronic or exhibition) that showcase the best of the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year competitions. Use of images will be credited to the photographer.
By entering the competition you accept that your image may be used by New Zealand Geographic in media that specifically advertises, promotes or celebrates the Photographer of the Year competition.
By entering the competition you accept that if your image is chosen as a category or overall winner, the relevant sponsor may use the image to promote their association with the awards for a period no longer than three months from the date the awards winners are announced. The words “New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year 2013 [+ category winner]” will accompany the publication of images used by sponsors and appear with a photo credit to the photographer asserting your copyright.
