Marwell Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011
Celebrating the variety of wildlife, our Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011 competition is open to professional, amateur and young photographers alike.
We are looking for striking images that capture the essence of nature in three categories:
Native Wildlife – flora and fauna from the British Isles
Marwell Wildlife residents
Funnies – nature at its most amusing
Categories 1 & 2 will have prizes awarded for adults and junior winners (children aged 15 and under), whereas in category 3, one winner will be selected (juniors can still enter this category). Once entered, all images will be uploaded in web resolution to our dedicated Marwell Wildlife Flickr Group for a “people’s choice winner” – members of the public can vote for their favourite online by “Favourite-ing” their preferred image from all entrants.
Up to five images per person can be submitted and the deadline for entries is 4 June 2011. Full terms and conditions are below – please ensure you read them as entry to the competition is deemed as acceptance of these rules.
There is a charge of just £5 for adults entering up to a maximum of 5 images across all the categories. Junior entrants are free.
Contest Prize & TERMS

Category winners (2 x Adult, 2 x Junior & 1 x Funnies) Marwell Wildlife annual membership x 1 year, Photographic workshop day at Marwell Wildlife with Wild Arena, Prints will be on display at Marwell Wildlife from end 2011, Dedicated Marwell Wildlife e-card
All runners up (2 x Adult, 2 x Junior & 1 x Funnies) Family day pass to Marwell Wildlife, Exhibited at the Discovery Centre in Winchester, A3 print of your image
People’s Choice Winner x 1: 1 x Face to Face encounter, Family day pass to Marwell Wildlife ELIGIBILITY: All residents of the UK. By entering the competition the participants agree that their name and nearest town of residence may be released if they win, and that their likeness may be used for pre-arranged promotional purposes. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not contravene the rights of third parties. USAGE RIGHTS: Entrants accept that images will be uploaded to the Marwell Wildlife Flickr group in medium resolution.
Entrants grant Marwell Wildlife a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use the work for all purposes connected with the competition and Marwell Wildlife, including but not limited to post-promotion publicity.
