Lake District National Park 60th birthday competition
A picture paints a thousand words, and we’d love for you to help us spot the difference between the past and the present by entering this competition.
Visit the website to look at the old photos, then recreate any combination of the locality, composition and or subject matter. You don’t have to dress up in historical costume, as the idea is to see how far things have changed in 2011. You don’t have to take the whole set, just one will do and you can enter as many times as you like.
Contest Prize & TERMS
PRIZE DETAILS:
First prize - a money can't buy dining experience. Enjoy a mouth-watering dinner for six, as the waters of Windermere lap around you, without getting your feet wet! We're offering the winner a once in a lifetime exclusive dinner served on the jetty at Windermere at Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre.
Second prize - indulge your inner pirate. Sail away for a morning or afternoon on a self-drive motor boat, courtesy of Coniston Boating Centre, on Coniston Water which inspired Arthur Ransome's classic children's tale "Swallows and Amazons".
Third prize - foodie heaven: Receive a luxury Lake District hamper packed to the brim with delicious local produce. ELIGIBILITY: UK / All ages (under 18s must have a parent/legal guardian’s permission) Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: The photographer must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of photos entered in to the competition. You will retain full copyright for your image. USAGE RIGHTS: By entering the competition, you grant the Lake District National Park Authority a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images. This may include, but is not limited to:
• News coverage of the competition • On the Lake District National Park Authority website • On the Lake District National Park Authority’s Facebook fan page • Exhibitions • Publications – such as leaflets and reports • for use in press releases to be distributed to national, regional and specialist press giving information about or promoting the 2011 competition.
Whenever your image is published by the Lake District National Park Authority you will be credited. Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition.
Entrants details will be stored for the purposes of the competition. By entering the competition, entrants agree that the Lake District National Park Authority can collect, save and process the personal data provided (the Data) for the sole purposes of the competition.
