L.A. Photo Curator ‘Surrealism’ curated by Lori Pond
Lori Pond says, “Salvador Dali, Hieronymus Bosch and Jerry Uelsmann all had one thing in common. They all created surrealistic art.
Technically speaking, surrealism seeks to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind, by using irrational juxtapositions, dream analysis and automatic writing (among many other methods) as inspirations for creating art.
This call is looking for adventurous, fearless artists to present photographs that emanate from the deepest parts of their unconscious minds.
Take a look at the artists listed above and see examples of surrealism that represent the concept particularly well.”
5% of artist entry fees goes to the charity of the curator. Lori Pond has chosen the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
Another 5% will go to the first place winner’s choice of charity.
