Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards 2018
To celebrate KLPA’s 10th Anniversary, and acknowledge the support we receive from our followers over the years, we are awarding a special GRAND PRIZE of $5,000 to one ultimate photographer – our highest prize money to be awarded – in addition to our unique commissioned trophies, extended exposure and printed features by our media partners.
In recognising diversity and rewarding effort, this edition of KLPA chooses specifically to highlight the importance of good storytelling in photography, within the contemporary portraiture genre where so many emerging photographers have been photographing recently – project work or the photo story. Special emphasis will also be given to photographers who push the boundaries of conventionality, to producing imaginative, fresh, visually arresting portraits and personally driven and well researched stories.
KLPA2018 will be a completely OPEN contest – with no theme to restrict your creativity, no boundaries to hold you back.
WHY ENTER? – Your work will be seen by our select panel of judges, who are committed to promoting and sharing new photography within their own industries, and our finalists will also be featured by our media partners through online portals, print and social media, as well as in future festivals.

COPYRIGHT: The Photographer always retains the copyright of all submitted images at all times, except in relation to the previous provision, that is, any free use shall only be in connection with the promotion of KL INTERNATIONAL PHOTOAWARDS by print & web by partners, sponsors and media companies. USAGE RIGHTS: Entrants agree that their work may be exhibited by the organisers at an appropriate venue, and subsequently at any other exhibition tour venues organised by them for 3 years from the close of the contest. Entrants agree that the organisers may use any entries featured in the exhibition without any payment to the Photographer, model or any third party for any sales, marketing, educational and publicity use on, and in, all media worldwide including catalogues, posters, postcards, the Internet and within a television documentary related to the exhibition for 3 years from the close of the contest. However, such free use shall only be in connection with the KL INTERNATIONAL PHOTOAWARDS and its promotion, and the photographer, and if appropriate the agency, will receive credit for such use.
