International Polar Year 2012 photo contest
Show us your best pictures of wildlife, landscapes and exploration of the Arctic and Antarctic territories. IPY 2012 in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society is proud to present its polar photography competition.
If you have had the opportunity to visit the Polar Regions as part of scientific research or while traveling, or you are a resident of the North, here is an opportunity to share the best pictures of your latest journey in the Arctic and Antarctic territories.
Submit your photos now in one of four categories and get a chance to see one of your masterpieces on display at the conference From Knowledge to Action happening from 22 to 27 April 2012 in Montreal.
Contest Prize & TERMS
Researchers, explorers and international representatives from more than 60 countries are expected to attend this event to discuss how to address issues of climate change in the North and South Poles going forward.
Winning images from Cold Snap will become part of the discussions.
In addition, the following prizes will be awarded:
Category winner (4) A cash prize of $500
First runner up (4) A cash prize of $250
Second runner up (4) A cash prize of $100 and a copy of Two Ways of Knowing by David and Doug Barber. ELIGIBILITY: Worldwide / 18+ Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: With regard to any photograph submitted to this Contest, the owner of the photograph retains all copyright in the photographs entered in the Contest. USAGE RIGHTS: By uploading any photograph to the Contest, Entrant grants (or warrants that the owner of such materials expressly grants) Canadian Geographic Enterprises a world-wide, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, adapt, transmit, communicate, publicly display and perform, distribute and create compilations and derivative works or merchandise from any such submitted photograph to promote the Contest. Entrant represents and warrants that Entrant has the right to grant the license set out above.
