Inspiring Places 2011 Liverpool Cathedral Photo Contest

Photo Comp image In its third year, the Cathedral Photographic Competition returns with budding photographers invited to capture their ‘inspiring places’ around the city. Liverpool is full of inspiring buildings – not least two of the world’s best examples of 20th century religious architecture at either end of Hope Street!

This year on the Waterfront, there are celebrations marking the centenary of the iconic Royal Liver Building and the opening of the striking new Museum of Liverpool.

While on our famous Rodney Street, the Everyman Theatre undergoes an inspiring transformation as work begins this summer on its new home, due to open in 2013.

But what inspires you?

Architecture, learning, worship, music, drama, dance, art, a view of sunset over the river from the top of the Cathedral Tower? – or maybe conversation over good food and wine!

This year’s photographic competition has expanded, with more categories for junior and adult amateur photographers to enter. Categories are: In the Hope Street Area Junior (up to 17) and Adult (17 and over); In the City Centre (Junior and Adult) and At the Everyman Theatre.
One entry please for up to three categories. Judges include Mike McCartney and Martin Birchall.

The Liverpool Everyman Theatre will also advertise backstage tours, where budding photographers will be able to bring along their camara and capture the theatre before it closes down for an extensive rebuild.
