GOOD FOOD FOR ALL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
Where the Leaves Fall is a magazine exploring humankind’s connection with nature and, in partnership with OmVed Gardens, Chef’s Manifesto and World Food Programme, is launching a photography competition in support of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021, with prizes of up to US$1,000 for the winning entries.
Participants should send in photographs that touch on the following themes – based on the UN Food Systems Summit Action Tracks:
1 – ENSURING ACCESS TO SAFE AND NUTRITIOUS FOOD
Increasing inequality is preventing people from accessing good food and leading to rising hunger and lack of nutrition. How can we make sure everyone has the food they need for a healthy, nutritious diet?
2 – SHIFTING TO SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION PATTERNS
A change in our behaviour is needed if we are to move towards sustainably-produced food. What can we do to promote and create demand for healthy and sustainable diets, while reducing waste?
3 – BOOSTING NATURE-POSITIVE PRODUCTION
How can we produce food while acting on climate change, reducing emissions and increasing carbon capture, regenerating and protecting critical ecosystems and reducing food loss and energy usage, without undermining health or a nutritious diet?
4 – ADVANCING EQUITABLE LIVELIHOODS
How can we produce food in a way that gives everyone a reasonable income, distributes risk along the supply chain, expands inclusion, and promotes full and productive employment and decent work for all?
5 – BUILDING RESILIENCE
What needs to be done to ensure the continued functionality of healthy and sustainable food systems?
Entry is free. You will have to complete a separate entry form for each submitted photograph. You will also need to provide some text explaining who you are, about your photograph, and your thoughts on the action tracks. The competition is open from 1 March to 30 April 2021.
