About the Exhibition
[Frisco, Texas] – Texas Photographic Society sets an August 15, 2016 deadline for FotoTexas: People, Places & Culture. This call will be juried by Dan Burkholder, fine art photographer, author and educator based in Palenville, New York. FotoTexas seeks work produced in Texas and wishes to celebrate the rich history, culture, people, icons and landscape of the state that TPS proudly calls home. The exhibition will be supplemented by exciting programming with Burkholder, including a public lecture and iPhone workshop.

Entry Fee
Entry fee is $30 for 5 images, plus $6 for each additional image. Photographers may enter up to 10 images. You do not need to be a member of the Texas Photographic Society to enter this competition. However, you may join TPS and enter this show at the same time.

About the Juror
Dan Burkholder is a fine art photographer, author and educator based in Palenville, New York. Dan Burkholder has a long history of looking beyond the photographic horizon to explore, teach and exhibit the next great thing in imaging. His book, iPhone Artistry (Pixiq Press, 2012), is the universe’s most comprehensive and fun how-to book for iPhone photographers. His poignant monograph, The Color of Loss (University of Texas Press, 2008), intimately documented the flooded interiors of post-Katrina New Orleans.

Dan earned his B.A. and Master’s degrees in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. His platinum/palladium and inkjet prints are included in private and public collections internationally.
