Faces of Biology Photo Contest

Biological research is transforming our society and the world. Help the public and policymakers to better understand the breadth of biology by entering the Faces of Biology Photo Contest.

The theme of the contest is “Faces of Biology.” Photographs entered into the contest must depict a person, such as a scientist, researcher, collections curator, technician, or student, engaging in biological research. The depicted research may occur outside, in a lab, with a natural history collection, on a computer, in a classroom, or elsewhere.

 

Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: The First Place Winner will have his/her winning photo featured on the cover of the journal BioScience, and will receive $250 and a one year membership in AIBS, including a subscription to BioScience.

The Second and Third Place Winners will have his/her winning photo printed inside BioScience, and will receive a one year membership in AIBS, including a subscription to BioScience. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.

COPYRIGHT: By entering the contest, entrants grant the American Institute of Biological Sciences a nonexclusive, transferable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, scholarly, advocacy, or non-commercial purpose, without compensation, permission or further notification to the entrant. USAGE RIGHTS: Examples of uses include, but are not limited to: publication in
the journal BioScience; promotion of the photo contest; publication on the website of the American Institute of Biological Sciences, the AIBS Legislative Action Center, or ActionBioscience.org; and in promotional or advocacy documents, pamphlets, or reports. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Sponsor will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
