Eyes of the World

Eyes of the World

Our spring exhibit Eyes of the World will showcase Mobile Phone Photography Portraits and is now open for entries through May 11, 2017.

We are all the eyes of the world. This is especially true for the mobile photographer as we document the world around us, at all times, as we see it & encounter its immediacy.

The portrait is as integral to photography as it is to painting. Great portraitists reach below the surface, they know you must dig down to reveal deeper emotions & secrets. They go for the essence. Eyes of the World is a showcase exhibit for the art of the portrait.

Sixteen Mile Arts photography gallery seeks a broad range of mobile device created Portrait & People photography from established and emerging mobile photographers for Eyes of the World held June 2 – June 30, 2017. Deadline for entry May 11, 2017.

All mobile phone and tablet based photo images are welcome.

In the words of photographer Edward Steichen:

“…A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it.” — Edward Steichen
