ArtAscent is now accepting submissions for the Dark International Call For Artists . The competition theme is Dark. Shadows, expectation, foreboding, mystery, villains, secrets, memories, challenges, hauntings or simply dark hues. Show us the darkness you have imagined.

All work is evaluated based on the vision as relates to the submission theme. Submissions including diverse interpretations of darkness will be considered. The beauty of art is that 100 artists can look at the same thing and interpret it in completely unique ways. That’s what can make it breathtaking. When you enter the competition, there is an ‘artists statement’ portion where you can provide context for your art and briefly explain how it relates to the theme. Share your interpretation and you might win a cash prize, be professionally reviewed and profiled, and/or be published in ArtAscent Journal of Art & Literature!

The art submission process includes entry fee, entry form, submission review, winners publication in ArtAscent magazine, website and online social media, and delivery of any applicable cash awards.

The mission of ArtAscent is to promote artists of images and words, and present them to art lovers. This is accomplished by art and writing competitions, artist profiles, art magazine publication, and artist and writer directories. Each competition is theme based, with the intent to showcase diverse creative explorations of that theme via various media, including paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, installations, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, poems and stories. Competition winners are included in our publications and directories.
