The photo featured above is none other than the winner of the most recent Dan’s Papers photo contest, the theme of which was: Gratitude! This image of a warm winter sunset on Main Beach, taken by the talented William Grand, earned him this contest’s prize, a $100 gift certificate to the Calissa restaurant in Water Mill, and a chance at the grand prize of becoming a Dan’s Papers cover artist!

Get ready, local shutterbugs, because the next photo contest has begun! Each contest brings a fresh theme, a fabulous prize and a chance to be honored as a Dan’s Papers cover artist! The current theme is Your Holiday Experience — poignant, beautiful or comical.

Up to 5 preferably high-res photos (no paintings, digital illustrations, etc.) must be sent to [email protected] with the subject “Holiday Photo Contest” by Sunday, December 19 at noon to be considered in the contest. The winner will be announced in the following issue, so no late submissions will be accepted. Select runners-up will run in subsequent issues.

All photos must also be taken on the East End (Hamptons, North Fork and Shelter Island) and submitted by the photographer who took them. The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers. Please include a little about yourself, some info about the photo (title, location, subject, etc.) and cut/paste the following written release statement with your submission: “By entering this contest and submitting photos, I acknowledge that Dan’s Papers (Schneps Media) is granted permission to post and print the attached images and their likeness with relation to the photo contest in print, online and on our social media.”
