The Glasgow Gallery of Photography’s mission is to advance the arts, heritage and cultural sector through exhibitions of photographic works as a means for artistic, community and personal expression.

The Glasgow Gallery of Photography is running a month long exhibition in February around the theme of Colour. Colour photography can really make an image stand out, it can highlight a subject and really engage the viewer. After our Monochrome exhibition we really want to showcase colour photography, we want images that really pop. If you have work that really highlights what colour photography can do, please submit your work for this exhibition.

The Colour exhibition is an open call for photographers to submit up to 8 images of any genre of photography, that meet the theme of Colour.

Photographers who are selected will have their work displayed for a month long exhibition.
Work will appear online in our online gallery on our website.

We want you to send your best images. We want work from both emerging and established photographers. You do not need to be a professional photographer to participate as we believe that photography is for everyone.

Both Scottish and International photographers are welcome.

All participants that are selected to take part in the exhibition will be put forward for a chance to be named Photographer of the Month.

How to participate:

Submission for this exhibition is FREE. If your work is selected there is a participation fee of £48.00. This covers the cost of everything.
We will print, install and un-install the work in the gallery space.

Local photographers are free to collect their work afterwards as we will hold it for 1 month.

The deadline for this exhibition: 28th December 2022

STEP 1: Choose up to 8 images that are 300ppi
and 3000 Pixels minimum on the shortest side. Work will be displayed various sizes.
(You will be asked to resubmit if you do not follow these guidelines)

STEP 2: Name your image file with your name e.g JohnSmith1
(If you do not name your images correctly they could be lost or misplaced and delay the exhibition. Please only use your name, do not include image titles or any other information)

STEP 3: Make sure your image is a JPEG, we can only except jpegs as this is what the printing company that we use requires.

STEP 4: Send us your 1 to 8 jpegs via Wetransfer/Dropbox (These are free to use) to [email protected]
