Coast Photographic Competition 2011

coast2010.gif (1 KB)As winners of the past two years’ Coast Photographic Competitions have proved, great photography not only captures the British coastline in all its moods – from cloud-bruised skies above stormy seas to children paddling in the shallows on a summer’s day – it also highlights many overlooked locations around our shoreline.

And it’s a great way to transport the landlocked viewer to the coast in a second. To celebrate the infinite variety of life and culture around our coast, we want you to pick up your cameras again this year, to produce more spectacular images of the British seaside.

We’re looking for digital photographs that represent the following aspects of the coast: Wildlife, Landscape, People at Work and People at Play. We hope these diverse themes will help to spark your creative talents as you holiday, or explore your area, by the sea over the coming months. Next year, our winners will see their images reproduced in coast and on display at the Country Living Spring Fair in March. They are also in with a chance of landing the top prize of a three-day break for two people to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, supplied by Travel Editions.

Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: The overall winner will enjoy a three day break for two to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, worth £738, supplied by Travel Editions. The trip includes a private evening at Osborne House (Queen Victoria’s favourite home, above) with dinner in Victoria Hall. You’ll also spend a day at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The prize includes two nights’ accommodation and evening meals. Travel Editions is a fully-bonded independent company, established for 16 years, which offers breaks for travellers, not tourists. Each itinerary is customised to include activities and places not offered by conventional tour operators, and accompanied by expert tour guides. Our four finalists will win their entry framed and mounted by PhotoBox, the number one destination for your photo printing needs.
