“Cinematically Inspired” Photo Contest
“As far as I’m concerned, taking photographs is a means of understanding which cannot be separated from other means of visual expression. It is a way of shouting, of freeing oneself, not of proving or asserting one’s own originality. It is a way of life.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 27TH APRIL 2010
This week, New Video Group releases the Collector’s Edition of the Henri Cartier-Bresson DVD set, which includes a series of documentaries on the artist, five of his original works, and a booklet containing photographs, quotes, and essays on his life. In the spirit of this amalgamation of photography and cinema, we’ve teamed up with Photojojo to bring you our first photo contest!
Photojojo is a candy store for photographers of sorts, with a really great newsletter devoted to sharing just about anything rad that’s related to photography (photo tips, DIY projects, inspiration and more).
The contest is simple: take a photo inspired by a film. Send it to us and let us know what film you’re referencing. We’ll post our favorite photos here (along with your credit) and allow submissions to our Flickr pool once the contest has closed. 1 grand prize winner will receive, compliments of PhotoJojo, our favorite little gadget of late, the Digital Harinezumi 2.0, which captures dreamy photos and Super-8 style video (check out stills and video), plus a copy of the Henri Cartier-Bresson DVD set.
