CIC Photo Prizes 2014

cicheadonlyWe are glad to announce CIC Photo Prizes 2014 an international competition on wildlife photography organised by the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC), open to both professional and amateurs. The theme for the 2014 contest is: “Astonishing Wildlife”. The prize money ranges from 250 to 1000 EUR. The Prizes will be awarded at the 61st CIC General Assembly in Milan, Italy, on 26th April 2014.

The aim of the prize is to stimulate observations in the field and an awareness of the aesthetic value of wildlife and hunting. Another aim is to suggest that the passion for hunting can find an expression in different ways – photography being another facet of a passion for wildlife. The competitions fulfils the function of a link between hunters and non-hunting lovers of wildlife.

Wildlife photography is one of the best ways to show to a broader public the values and the necessity of hunting and wildlife management. It is for this reason the CIC seeks the participation also of non-hunting photographers to assist the CIC fulfil its goal for the conservation of nature and all its living creatures. For 2014, the CIC is looking for photos which depict astonishing or surprising situations of wildlife, which will startle the viewer.
