Celebrate the Bulwell JSC Photography Competition
Celebrate the Bulwell JSC Photography Competition: Celebrate the Past, Present and Future of Bulwell.
Throughout 2009, photographic artist, Faye Chamberlain has been exploring and documenting the planning, development and creation of the new Joint Service Centre for Bulwell and its current environment situated adjacent to the Bulwell Bogs area. Her work is in line with the thematic concept for the artwork as part of the new Centre which celebrates the River Leen and the nature that thrives from it.
We are inviting submissions of photographs of Bulwell, the JSC site and the River Leen that document and celebrate the changes to the site or the town centre. We would also welcome submissions of inspiring and reminiscent historical photographs alongside creative and imaginative futuristic photographs. These could be present day images, historical photos and images that could represent Bulwell’s future. Be as imaginative as you can!
Photographs will be displayed in an exhibition at the Bulwell Library in early 2010 and will be selected by a panel including Faye Chamberlain. Three age groups are invited to enter; Children (under 11), Young People (11 to 21) and Adults (21 and over).
A winner will be selected from each age group and will receive a £50 voucher from the Boots Photo store and benefit from a photography ‘masterclass’ with Faye Chamberlain.
Photographic work will be accepted in two formats;
• Jpeg (emailed to [email protected])
• Printed photograph, size 7”x5” (sent by post to Leon McLean, LIFT Project Team, New Brook House, Room 38, 385 Alfreton Road, Nottingham NG7 5LR)
Please indicate if your work represents Past, Present or Future and provide a title for the photograph. You are welcome to submit more than one photographic work in any category. Please include your name, age, address and telephone number. Photographs submitted by post will need to enclose a Stamped Addressed Envelope so that work may be returned. You will receive a letter informing you if you have been successful for exhibition and all entrants will receive an invitation to view the exhibition.
All budding photographers out there, this is your chance to get creative and be inspiring.
