Capture the Essence of Speyside 2014 Photo Contest The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival Photographic Competition 2014, Capture the Essence of Speyside 2014 sponsored by the Benromach, is now open for entry.

The categories are:

Abstract images of Speyside – textures, patterns, angles, colours; think the unusual and get creative!

Seasons of Speyside – including castles, bridges, distilleries, landscapes, flora and fauna can all provide material for a photograph. The time of the year can have a dramatic effect; capture the icons of Speyside in all their seasonal splendour.

People of Speyside – from farmers to distillers and craftspeople to performers (sport, art, creative etc), photograph the people who live, work and play in the area.

And in a first for 2014, photographers from overseas are invited to submit entries into the category: Speyside around the World – from the bottled product, people, places and activities, the impact of Speyside can be felt around the world. Capture a little piece of Speyside on foreign shores.


Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: The winner of the overall title will receive a five-day commission to capture the 2014 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival on film or digitally, together with a cash prize, trophy, bottle of Benromach malt whisky and two tickets to the prestigious 2014 Festival Opening Dinner. There are also prizes on offer for the second and third placed photographers in each of the categories

All the finalist images will be exhibited throughout Scotland and online where people can vote for their own favourite image – the People's Choice Award. The winning photographer of the People's Choice Award will also receive a prize as will the winning voter. ELIGIBILITY: International / 18+

Size: A4 size prints (297mm x 210mm) only and unmounted. Overseas entries can be provided by email or on a CD – a minimum 300 dpi. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.

COPYRIGHT: The photographer submitting the entry must own the copyright of any images entered. Copyright will remain with the photographer USAGE RIGHTS: Copyright will remain with the photographer but is freely assigned to Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival Ltd and Benromach Distillery for use within any publicity or other activities in connection with the event.
