The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) invites you to show the world Charlottesville and Albemarle through your own photos!

Capture Charlottesville is a special photo contest that provides an opportunity for the casual and serious photographer alike to capture the natural beauty, unique character, unparalleled history, vibrant culture and remarkable people that combine to make the Charlottesville/Albemarle area one of America’s true treasures.

The CACVB is looking to select 4 winning photographs and 10 runner-up photographs. Each winning photograph will be awarded $1,000 and each runner-up photograph will be awarded $100! Photos are to be used in CACVB world-wide marketing collateral, websites, advertising, media-kits, posters, tradeshows, and for any CACVB promotion. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate.

We will unveil our winning photographs on Friday, June 29 with a special press conference to kick off our My Backyard Vacation campaign. My Backyard Vacation is designed to encourage local residents to stay in Central Virginia for the summer and utilize the area attractions that Charlottesville-Albemarle offers.

One of the winning prize amounts will be awarded to the photo that best shows how to “play like a local”. Photos for this topic could include shots of people at area parks, restaurants or attractions. Only photographs with people included in the picture will be eligible for this category.
