Capture an Iconic Moment. Win a Langham Experience
Langham Hotels International has launched a photography competition encouraging snappers to capture an iconic moment in a creative and imaginative way at any Langham destination worldwide.
The overall winner will receive four nights stay in any Langham property around the world and Cathay Pacific business class return tickets for two. Each of the nine finalists will win a two-night stay in the destination where their original iconic moment was captured.
Bob van den Oord, Vice President – Sales & Marketing for Langham Hotels International said: “Every destination has icons that stand out and we want people to capture the most striking moments in an original way. This competition is designed to get everyone thinking iconic visions which will excite other people to travel to these places.”
The judging panel will consist of experts and organisers who will look at creativity, technical excellence, and the spirit of the iconic moment in relation to the destination. The top submissions with the most ‘comments or likes’ will then be judged by the panel to decide the final ranking and the eventual winner.
The judges include Leong Ka Tai, a veteran Hong Kong photographer, and photography curator Davina Lee. Leong Ka Tai’s work has been published in 22 books as well as National Geographic and Life. He is also one of the organisers of the Hong Kong Photo Festival. Davina Lee is a graduate of Sotheby’s Institute of Art and founder of Words for Pictures Limited. Her work has been published in magazines such as the Royal Photographic Society, HK Tatler and Muse.
Contest Prize & TERMS
Grand Prize – 1 Winner. An exclusive 4 nights stay in a suite at one of the worldwide Langham hotels* of his/her choice and a return business class trip for two . ELIGIBILITY: Photo must be taken from a langham destinations: Auckland, Beijing, Boston, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Samui and Shanghai. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
COPYRIGHT: Entrants will retain copyright and moral rights in their submitted photos. USAGE RIGHTS: By entering, all entrants i) Grant the Organiser, non-exclusive rights to use the photos to promote the Campaign which the photos were submitted to, or for similar future competitions within a five (5) year period after the winners have been announced for the Campaign that the photos concerned were submitted to.
ii) Grant the Organiser non-exclusive rights to edit, publish and use each entry to promote this Campaign which may include but not limited to an online gallery or feature in Cathay Pacific’s Discovery Magazine, or similar future competition, during the Campaign Period and for a period of twenty-four (24) months after the winners have been announced. In each case, the photographer will always be credited whenever the image is used and published by the Organiser.
Photos used beyond the promotion of the Campaign will be subject to negotiation with the photographer, and be independent of the Campaign. The winners may be required to take part in publicity and their name and country will be published on the website of the Organiser or in other publications by the Organiser and in Discovery magazine.
